Stop Dowry Deaths and Violence Against Women

I would like to raise concern regarding the dowry system, which is still creating suffering and injustice for many daughters and their families in our society. Many parents spend their entire lives earning money only for their daughter’s marriage, sacrificing their own needs, dreams, and future security. Despite this, many women still face harassment, pressure, and emotional or physical abuse after marriage.
Marriage should be based on love, trust, respect, and understanding — not on money, salary slips, gifts, or financial status. In today’s situation, where many people are already struggling with unemployment and unstable private jobs, demanding dowry or judging families based on income is completely unfair and inhuman.
I sincerely request that strict action should be taken against dowry demands and anti-dowry laws must be strongly implemented. Society also needs awareness so that daughters are treated with equality and respect, not as a financial burden on parents.
Ending the dowry system will reduce financial pressure on families and help create a safer, fairer, and more respectful society for women.
