The awkward silence on the rising, racism and hatred growing towards, Indians on foreign lands.

Sorry, my concern is not related to any specific Indian city or municipal issue. Rather, it is about the support and reassurance that a government extends to its citizens, regardless of where they live in the world.

Many NRIs like me look towards our government for the same sense of backing and belonging that other countries provide to their overseas citizens. That support strengthens our connection to our motherland and encourages us to continue putting our nation first.

We are just as patriotic as any Indian living within the country. However, our growing concerns often go unheard. Very few politicians in India raise these issues, and at times it feels as though our voices and anxieties are overlooked entirely.

What we seek is not privilege, but reassurance — a simple acknowledgment from our government that, as our motherland, India stands with us and supports us wherever we are in the world.
