DEMAND FOR RECHECKING, NORMALISATION AND AWARDING GRACE MARKS FOR CBSE CLASS 12 BOARDS RESULTS.
I am an ordinary cockroach 🪳, formally known as Spandan Mukherjee, belonging to the highly political state of West Bengal.
I would like to draw your kind attention to the fact that nearly every student enrolled in the Science stream of CBSE Class 12 has experienced immense injustice in the results they received this year. Proper lenient checking, along with moderation and normalization, should be the policy of every educational board in order to provide students with fair and genuine opportunities for advancement in their future careers.
However, the board has suddenly applied its new checking policy of OSM marking and has evaluated answer scripts in an extremely strict manner. This has not only caused distress among students and their parents, but has also put the future of many aspiring engineers, doctors, and scientists at risk, as several students failed to achieve the so-called “minimum eligible marks” in their CBSE Class 12 examinations.
This situation makes one thing very clear about the current educational system — “Marks are just numbers on a paper, yet they are being allowed to decide the future of students.”
Therefore, I, on behalf of every neglected CBSE Class 12 Science student, demand:
• Proper re-evaluation completely free of cost (without charging even a single paisa)
• Implementation of a fair normalization scheme according to the length and difficulty level of different sets of various Science subjects
• Or, alternatively, the awarding of appropriate grace marks to students affected by this issue
We want justice as soon as possible. The voices of students should not be ignored, and the authorities must take immediate steps to ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for all.
