Police is not doing there jobs properly
On the night of 24th February around 12:50 AM, near Giani’s in Ramesh Nagar, I was riding my bike when a person suddenly stopped me after a minor road situation. I already said sorry to him calmly because I didn’t want any fight or argument, but instead of stopping, he started abusing me badly and then suddenly started hitting me.
I kept requesting him to calm down and stop fighting, but he became more aggressive. After that, he called his brother, and once his brother arrived, both of them started hitting me together in public. I was completely shocked because I was not fighting back — I was only trying to stop the situation from getting worse.
One of them forcefully snatched my bike keys and threw them toward a nearby apartment area so I couldn’t leave from there. At one point I also saw bricks in one of their hands, and honestly I got scared for my safety. There were many people standing nearby watching everything happen. The people around knew clearly who was at fault and saw that I was the one getting beaten.
Feeling helpless, I called the police myself because I believed they would help me and handle the situation fairly. But what happened after reaching the police station hurt me even more than the road incident.
When we were taken to PS Kirti Nagar, instead of listening to my side or helping me as a complainant, SHO Vinit Kumar started abusing me multiple times in front of the same people who had assaulted me. Then he slapped me. I felt humiliated and helpless standing there inside a police station where I had gone expecting protection.
The SHO forcefully took my phone from me. When I asked respectfully, “Sir, why are you taking my phone?”, he threatened me and said that he could file any complaint against me and arrest me in any case. He also said, “Police walo ki na dosti achi hoti hai na hi dushmani.” That statement genuinely made me feel threatened and intimidated.
What hurt me even more was that my phone was handed over to the same people who had assaulted me, and they switched it off. I felt completely powerless at that moment.
The SHO then started checking my personal phone without my permission. He opened my gallery, my photos, and went through my personal data. He asked me what I do, and when I told him I’m a strength and conditioning coach, I showed him my Instagram profile to explain my profession. Even after that, he kept scrolling through my phone without my consent.
After all this, I was pressured and forced to write that I was “hyper.” I wrote it only because I was scared and intimidated inside the police station. It was not written voluntarily.
That entire night left me mentally disturbed. I called the police expecting safety and fairness, but instead I felt insulted, threatened, and unsupported while the same people who assaulted me stood there watching everything happen.
