Absence of Heavy Industries: Since the partition of Jharkhand in 2000, Bihar lost most of its mineral-rich areas and heavy industries. The state has struggled to attract major manufacturing units or multinational corporations (MNCs).
​Weak Private Sector: There is a severe lack of a private-sector ecosystem (like IT parks or manufacturing hubs), leaving government jobs as the only highly sought-after source of employment.
