Religion issues

So recently, me and my family were searching for apartments. we are muslims so the localty we choose had very few apartments. we visited one and they said no flats are empty but it was clearly written a "TOLET" on the board. we asked they said its only for ownership. and the watchman eagerly waiting for us to leave later when we investigated came to know that people in apartment do not allow Muslims. what on earth is this. its not just one we faced it most of the times left the apartment which we were good for our choice
