Across platforms like Instagram, Discord, X, Reddit, and TikTok, Indians are constantly mocked through racist memes, stereotypes, and “jokes” about accents, hygiene, food, appearance, and scam-call stereotypes. What makes it worse is that people often dismiss this behaviour as “dark humour” instead of recognizing it as racism.
Many Indians now hesitate to speak in voice chats, comment online, or mention where they are from because they fear trolling or humiliation. Viral negative clips are often unfairly used to represent the entire country, while social media algorithms continue spreading such content because it gains attention quickly. This issue is no longer just online trolling it affects confidence, identity, and mental health, while making racism against Indians seem normal on the internet.
