Justice
It feels as if the people who make laws often make them in ways that benefit themselves first. In Kashmir, a law was passed regarding rented shops and tenants. According to that law, if a landlord wants to evict a tenant, they can do so by giving only one month’s notice, and if the tenant does not leave, legal action can be taken against them.
Many people believe such laws were introduced because influential politicians, ministers, and powerful individuals themselves owned rented properties and shops. Earlier, they faced legal difficulties in removing tenants through the courts, so instead of changing the situation fairly for everyone, the law itself was changed in a way that suited their own interests.
This creates a deep sense of injustice among ordinary people. It gives the impression that laws are sometimes shaped according to the interests of the powerful, while the struggles of common citizens are ignored. Because of this, many ordinary people feel voiceless, helpless, and treated as if their rights and hardships do not matter in front of influence and power.
