Crime against women and children

I would like to express my concern regarding the increasing crimes against children and women. Recently, in the Coimbatore area of Sulur, a complaint was filed about a missing 9-year-old girl child, and the very next day, the child was reportedly found dead in a pond. Incidents like these are becoming more frequent, and it is deeply disturbing.
Many countries, including Saudi Arabia, are known for taking very strict action against serious crimes such as rape and violence against women and children. Strong and severe punishments may help reduce such crimes and create fear among offenders.
We often speak proudly about other countries and their systems, but have we truly reflected on why such safety measures and strict enforcement are still lacking in our own country? This issue is not limited to one child or one city alone. Across India, countless children and women continue to suffer because of such crimes.
While offenders may remain safe under police protection and within the prison system, the victims and their families continue to suffer physically and psychologically for years. Therefore, I sincerely request the authorities to take stronger and more severe action against such crimes to ensure justice and public safety.
